Our Chef Charity Collabs

In the first months of COVID, our team at Home Appétit—which has deep ties to Philly's restaurant community—saw our favorite local eateries struggling. In search of ways we could help, we came up with an idea: Partner with local chefs to bring their signature dishes to our customers and donate a portion of sales to something they needed at the moment.
The first chef we worked with was Nick Elmi. He chose to donate the funds ($2,500) to the staff at one of his restaurants who found themselves suddenly out of work.
The collab was a win-win. We were able to support a community that needed a lifeline, while giving our customers the chance to enjoy their favorite dishes without leaving their kitchens.

Fast-forward to today, and what began as a temporary solution has evolved into a cornerstone of our company's mission. The Chef Collab Program is now a platform for creativity and collaboration, connecting renowned chefs with our loyal audience in support of causes near and dear to each chef's heart. Since 2020, we have worked with more than 13 chefs, including all-stars like Nok Suntaranon (twice!), Greg Vernick, Dionicio Jimenez, Marcie Turney, Omar Tate, Eli Kulp, Tyler Aiken, Nick Elmi (twice!), Chad Rosenthal, Frankie Ramirez, and more.
Most importantly, through these collaborations, we've donated more than $100,000 to local causes. Our only requirement is that the foundation is local so the impact is felt within our community. Along the way, we've been introduced to an incredible group of Philadelphians working tirelessly to run impactful organizations. A few examples: The Center for Violence Prevention at CHOP; The Attic, a trans youth program; KB Foundation, a mentorship program; Pastor Carl Day, a North Philly leader standing up for his community's needs; the incredible cancer research being done at Kimmel Cancer Center; the immigrant healthcare service at Puentes de Salud, and many more.
We’re thrilled to continue bringing you the best of the restaurant world, right to your dining room table.
